bringing the past to life

Once thriving, the ancient cities of the Indus Delta now lie in ruins, fading from memory. The Lost Cities of Indus Delta project was launched to document and preserve these historic sites through digital storytelling, AI-assisted illustrations, and immersive experiences, ensuring their legacy endures.

Our Role

We played a key role in designing the user experience for the interactive website and VR platform, ensuring seamless exploration of the reconstructed sites. Our work included UI/UX design, content development, and interactive elements to engage schools and organizations, making history immersive and accessible.

Content Strategy

We structured each site’s history with folklore, local perspectives, and expert insights, ensuring every location had a unique identity. The content was carefully organized to create a seamless storytelling experience that connected users to the historical significance of each site.

AI-Assisted Illustrations & VR Exploration

Since many of these sites exist only as ruins, historical references from Sindh were used to visualize their past appearances. AI-assisted illustrations helped fill gaps with historical accuracy while preserving an artistic touch. We designed the user interface for the VR experience, enabling users to navigate and explore the sites interactively.

Making Learning Fun: Gamification for Engagement

A quiz at the end of each site’s exploration encouraged curiosity and engagement. This interactive feature provided a sense of achievement and motivated users to explore all five sites.

Impact

By making these stories accessible, this project keeps the memory of these ancient cities alive and sparks curiosity in future generations. As more schools and institutions explore these experiences, the journey of rediscovering the Indus Delta’s lost cities continues.
